February 15, 2023 – Prairie Capital, a Chicago-based middle-market private equity firm, is pleased to announce the successful sale of Architectural Lighting Works (the “Company” or “ALW”), a Prairie Capital VI portfolio company. This exit highlights Prairie’s investment strategy of partnering with founders and management teams to build market-leading companies in high-growth industries.

Prairie sold ALW to LMPG Inc. (formerly known as Lumenpulse Group Inc.).  LMPG is headquartered in Montreal, Canada, and designs, develops, manufactures, and sells a wide range of high performance and sustainable specification-grade LED lighting solutions for commercial, institutional, and urban environments.

Prairie’s investment thesis focused on expanding ALW from a founder-owned business to a scalable platform company in the highly fragmented and growing LED lighting industry. This required substantial company-building investments including: (i) hiring key executive leadership to continue to expand the ALW brand and maximize operational efficiencies; (ii) investing in technology to enhance marketing, customer service, financial reporting, and performance analytics; and (iii) acquiring and integrating competitors to expand the Company’s product portfolio.
