Prairie Capital VI, LP supported AlpHa Measurement Solutions (“AlpHa”) in its acquisition of Van London Co. (“Van London”). AlpHa is the newly formed holding company that serves as the corporate parent for sister companies Analytical Sensors & Instruments (“ASI”), ASI’s Chinese subsidiary Aurora Scientific Instruments (“Aurora”) and now Van London Co.

Drew Hall, who has been acting as ASI and Aurora’s CEO since 2016, was named AlpHa’s CEO. Kurt & Ellen Van London joined Drew on AlpHa’s senior management team.

The formation of AlpHa and acquisition of Van London further strengthen AlpHa’s position as an industry leading designer and manufacturer of sensor technology for water testing and related applications.

Founded in 1961 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, Van London is a designer and manufacturer of high-quality electromechanical analytical sensors used in a wide variety of water and harsh industrial applications. With a reputation as a leading provider of the highest quality products to the industrial, lab and biotech markets, Van London presents a strong complement to the AlpHa portfolio.

The vision for AlpHa is to build a comprehensive liquid sensor technology platform serving the complex needs of the water quality, pharmaceutical, laboratory and industrial markets with an unmatched combination of precision, reliability, innovation and flexibility. Combined, the ASI, Aurora and Van London brands boast over one hundred years of experience, 350 employees across an international footprint and 100,000 s.f. of manufacturing space. The combination also provides AlpHa with robust technical resources and a broad, well-respected range of products and capabilities.

The need for accurate and reliable water testing devices continues to grow as the demands for clean water have broadened substantially and the penalties for non-conformance remain high.  AlpHa embraces the responsibility to deliver reliable, quality products and earn being the first choice for water sensor solutions.
