Prairie Capital Partners with Medefil

Prairie Capital partnered with executives Ankit Aggarwal and Jack Glerum to acquire Medefil (the “Company”). Headquartered in Glendale Heights, IL, Medefil is an FDA-approved pharmaceutical developer, manufacturer and marketer of prefilled syringe products for acute care end markets.

The Company was founded by the Aggarwal family in 1998 to satisfy unmet demand for flush syringes. Over time, Medefil began developing, manufacturing and commercializing generic drug injectables to expand its prefilled syringe product portfolio. Medefil’s US-based, vertically integrated and automated manufacturing facility consistently produces high-quality, affordable products.

The domestic non-retail injectable market exceeds $8 billion; the prefilled syringe format within the domestic non-retail injectable market exceeds $1 billion. The addressable market for prefilled syringes is projected to grow due to increases in surgical procedures and growing preference for the ready-to-use format in hospital settings given the speed of administration and reduced risk of error.

Prairie Capital partnered with Ankit and Jack to accelerate the growth of the Company through implementation of Prairie’s S3 Framework for value creation and related company-building investments in human capital, new products, sales and marketing, technology, supply chain, infrastructure and add-on acquisitions.
